Open Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound. Side note: I also got some static with apple earphones, in the same way as the third option of connection I listed. If you experience sound issues on your Razer headset such as hissing, static, or buzzing while 7.1 Surround Sound is enabled, perform the following steps to resolve the issue: So maybe you get interference when the mic and speakers are in one wire, a splitter might reduce that static, I will get one and see if it improves it. It's interesting, I had a £10 stereo headset that never had any static but it was of poor build quality and had a low range of frequencies. So it's probably an issue with simulated surround sound and USB connections. Also if you choose this method of connection you will have to buy a splitter to use the mic. Sounds like EMI (electro-magnetic interference) this can be due to poor onboard auido on the motherboard or poor headphones. Low static - stereo direct connection, even then there is some static but it's random and caused by the case not being earthed. The USB has a surround sound toggle button on it. It is also a 7.1 USB only this one comes with 2 separate wires, a 3 channel audio jack and a USB that you can plug that into which you plug into your PC. I did eventually swap my kraken for a Kingston Cloud Pro II ![]() I seem to notice similar buzzing noise in a lot of noise cancelling headphones/headsets. I was playing with them 1st day and I noticed that there was a hissing noise in the background. It does this on both my laptop and my desktop (laptop does not have Razer Synapses, desktop does) Few days ago bought new Razer Kraken Pro V2 (oval black). The buzzing noise is there as long as it's plugged in and powered, regardless of any audio playing. When I first bought the headset (Kraken Chroma), I thought all digital audio headset do this so I ignored it, but I guess it shouldn't be doing this as it doesn't do it on my work headset (Plantronics 478) and it's getting annoying. This buzzing noise does not go away and it sounds like it's something to do with Surround Sound because I hear it going up and down or in circles (kind of like running a sync for the Surround Sound feature). I do hear a hissing noise when I turn the volume up (which goes away when I turn it down), but I have another "buzzing" noise issue. I don't know if this is the same problem that you guys are discussing. ![]()
